Mapping Faith-Based Public-Private Partnerships with National Ministries of Health Context, Gaps, & Strategies
2024
The concept paper, developed by Christian Connections for International Health (CCIH) and the Christian Health Asset Mapping Consortium (CHAMC), examines the role of faith-based organizations in national health systems through public-private partnerships with governments. It highlights the substantial contributions these organizations make to healthcare, especially in underserved areas, while identifying data gaps that hinder their effective integration into health planning. The paper proposes a framework to improve data collection and classification, supporting a more inclusive and comprehensive approach to health system planning. Thank you to the WHO Faith Network Mapping Sub-Group in collaboration with the WHO Geolocated Health Facilities Initiative Technical Working Group for their contributions to this work.
