CCIH 30×30: Health Systems are the Backbone of Healthy and Resilient Communities
2020
While the CCIH 30×30 Health Systems Initiative was well underway before the COVID-19 pandemic, the crisis underscores just how critical strong health systems are. Faith-based health care providers are a vital component of many health systems across the globe and their impact is large. CCIH’s 30×30 encourages organizations to commit to strengthen one or more of the six pillars of a health system as defined by the WHO in which faith-based organizations operate. Together, we’ll strengthen at least 30 health systems by 2030 through this initiative. On April 23, 2020, we heard from three faith-based organizations that made commitments to strengthen health systems through a variety of innovations. Sharing their organizations commitments were Josh Guenther, Uganda Country Director, LifeNet International; Perry Jansen, Vice President, African Mission Healthcare; and Nancy TenBroek, Senior Program Consultant, World Renew.
