CCIH Virtual Learning Institute: Transform Your Impact into Funding
Global health ministries and Christian organizations working in low-and middle-income countries can improve and scale up their fundraising and development results by adopting a few tried and true best practices. CCIH’s Virtual Learning Institute will unlock these practices and help you strengthen vital skills to scale up your impact. This year, we’re focusing on developing relationships and support from private foundations.
The sessions will be held October 8 through 10 from 8:00 to 10:30 am ET / 12:00 – 2:30 pm UTC. Over the three days of training, you’ll learn to: State Your Value, Write Your Proposal, and Find Your Next Supporter!
Day 1: State Your Value
Before asking for support, you need to understand your organization’s value and how to package and present it. On Day 1, you will learn how to understand potential funders and partners needs, identify your organization’s unique selling points, and develop a Value Proposition. We will also cover the key “do’s and don’ts” of pitching to potential funders and partners and enable you to practice what you learn in real-time.
Day 2: Write Your Proposal
Now that you understand and can state your value, you’ll learn grant writing tips and techniques for winning proposals and be ready when proposals are released. You’ll understand the difference between solicited and unsolicited opportunities and the common requirements you’ll face. You’ll also have the opportunity to read a solicitation to see if you can discover the most important elements and develop a compliance matrix based on the requirements.
Day 3: Find Your Next Supporter!
On the final day, you’ll learn how to find foundations, evaluate which ones are the best fit for your work, and how to approach them. We’ll talk about different strategies based on foundation type and size, and how you can build a relationship with a funder.
We’ll interview development experts as they share tactics and firsthand experiences navigating the relational side of working with foundations. You’ll learn from:
- Jaime Berry, Director of Corporate Partnerships, World Relief
- David Evans, CCIH Board Member and a Fractional Leader/Consultant
