The Daniel Plan The Daniel Plan was developed in 2010 by Pastor Rick Warren of Saddleback Church (link to saddleback.com) to improve his own health and help members of his congregation lose weight and get in shape. It is a program of smart eating, exercise, small-group support meetings, walk and worship sessions, and more. Over the first 18 months of the plan's existence, 15,000 people signed up and lost a collective total of 260,000 pounds. The name of the plan was inspired by Daniel's refusal to eat the rich food of the king and his resolve to remain strong and healthy to serve God. View the plan
