Preface It has taken nearly 10 years since the last time we had an official health facility list. This problem was partly due to the management changeovers that took place during the mid 90s. This edition of health institution list is a testimony that despite the silence during the past years, this activity still remains an important one. The exercise of compiling an institutional list is very demanding and undertaking, in that it requires that every known health institution in the country submits data on its current status. This is usually done through districts and provincial offices. Because of the problems associated with this exercise, any list compiled can not have a specific reference point smaller than a year. We are aware that our readers may prefer more information about these facilities. Though this is truly important it is beyond the intention of this booklet. What is contained here however, can provide a basis for further expansion on the details of these facilities. Your comments towards improving on this publication will be highly appreciated.
