  • Engaging Faith-Based Organizations in the Response to Maternal Mortality | This document was created as a result of a November 2011 meeting at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in collaboration with the World Faiths Development Dialogue and Christian Connections for International Health. These case studies served as a springboard for group discussion and offered a number of recommendations for increasing the capacity of FBOs working on maternal health issues.  

  • Maternal and Child Health in South Sudan | PowerPoint Presentation by Joy Mukaire, executive director of the Christian Health Association of Sudan at a Capitol Hill Briefing on June 11, 2012 | Joy Mukaire explains the maternal health situation in South Sudan and how CHAS works in collaboration with the community to involve church leaders and traditional birth attendants in maternal care and promoting healthy practices. CCIH joined other faith-based organizations in sponsoring the briefing on Capitol Hill on the vital role of faith-based organizations in reaching and providing care to vulnerable populations. The briefing was co-sponsored with the Healthy Families Healthy Planet initiative of the General Board of Church and Society of the United Methodist Church, the Adventist Development and Relief Agency and The New Evangelical Partnership for the Common Good and UNAIDS
